PROGRAMS USED: Adobe InDesign, Canva
CONCEPT BRIEF:
This project required us to create a two-page spread that pushed us to learn how to use necessary tools and skills in Adobe InDesign. Because I was planning on getting married (our plans changed due to deaths in the family), I decided this was the perfect time to try out a trend that I loved - wedding newspaper programs. I also had a little bit of experience designing newspapers because I worked on my high school newspaper staff, so I knew this would be fun.
CHALLENGES:
I wanted this piece to have a cute cartoon timeline as shown in the final product. I did not have confidence in my ability to illustrate my own icons at that time, so I figured out a way to design the timeline on Canva and place them onto the project from there. I also was still learning the InDesign interface, so figuring things like text placement and the various tools out was a hurdle to overcome.
REFLECTIONS:
I love this piece and can't wait to print it out to use in some way at my wedding - whether a sign or printed programs. I had a lot of fun working on something personal, and I love the way it turned out. I can't
